I think this is worth putting on the news sections....

46 teams is a new Australian Paintball record! Beating the previous one of 35 teams set by Round 1 of the Super 7s back in February this year....

On behalf of everyone working to make the Super 7s grow the sport and the staff at Action Paintball Games for all the extra hours in the last couple of weeks, this week and of course this weekend...

Big ups and my thanks to Ian, Adam, Darryn, Liz, Dale, Matt, Nathan amd of course the powerhorse behind the scene..... Action John..... :thumbsup:

Toggle this category Live Webcast Phoenix PSP event 2012

If you have not been watching the action so far you are missing out. Before Phoenix could stat they had to finish off the Galveston island event which was put on hold for the Pro division. Tampa Bay Damage play strong and won the first event in the PSP series.

Who is going to win Phoenix? Watch and find out as it happens at Paintball Access.

Will your favorite Pro team be the winners, best way to find out is watch the webcast. You can also watch it on a PDA device, iPhone, DRIOID, Balckberry, etc.

Total War Event 1 Wrap Up and Awards
For the first event of the year in Sydney and Perth the Total War Event 1, went extremely well! The weather was perfect and it really was awesome to see the games and the scenarios go so well. The two teams played very well, however the SASR really smashed it up in the final game to secure victory. The smoke was flying in Sydney and we all had a great time. Special thanks to Darren, Nathan Dunn, Ringo NG, Ben Simpson, Karl Simpson, Aaron Sillis, and Scott Marden. Having the pro refs on the field really makes the game better and fairer. Special thanks to Mike and John for allowing me to do the work to make these games come together. The Thanks to all who registered online, it made things go so much faster!

Toggle this category New Paintball Gear: R7 Paintball Camera

Posted By:  Action Mike @ 24 February 2012 - 08:42 AM
After several years of development, Greg “Red” Hastings is preparing to launch his new paintball gear brand R7.

Today a photo surfaced of one of the first R7 products, the R7 Replay Paintball Camera. Available in 1080 High Definition, Greg’s camera comes complete with a paintball gun mount and will enable you to both document your paintball experience and confirm your shots.

Here is a sneak peak;

New Paintball Gear: R7 Paintball Camera

Helmet mounted paintball cameras have become immensely popular in recent years. Up until recently, we had (wrongly) assumed that the use of these small HD cameras was limited to tournament players. However, we learned this was not the case on our Presidents day paintball trip. ProPaintball staff noted 3 or 4 of the players (of our 60 person walk-on group) were using GoPro’s to document their day. In addition to those wearing the cameras, several paintball players were discussing buying their own Helmet mounted HD Cameras. Seems that R7 may have a hot paintball product on their hands.

The question is, will R7 be able to out market GoPro & ContourHD in the paintball world?

Thanks to Propaintball.com :thumbsup:

Toggle this category PSP, Valken, DYE, and Paintball Sponsorships

Posted By:  Action Mike @ 15 February 2012 - 06:56 AM
Misinformation is circulating that paintball manufacture Valken Sports was “shut out of the PSP”. As typical on ProPaintball, we immediately reached out to Lane Wright of PSP Events. Being the COO of the PSP, Lane was able to cut through the misinformation and set the record straight.

Here are the facts;
■In addition to being an exhibitor, Valken and DYE Precision both expressed interest in being a paintball sponsor of the PSP for the 2012 season.
■After a period of review, both requests to be a paintball sponsor were denied. According to Lane, this decision was reached with the intent of preventing a race to the bottom (see below).
■Both Valken & DYE Precision are invited to exhibit their products at events – just as they have done in the past. However, they can’t sell paint.
■Lane mentioned that the PSP tried having several paintball vendors at events. However, in their experience, too many paint vendors selling inventory to a limited audience created a lose-lose for everyone. It created a race to the bottom environment that depressed prices in the short term and created a situation where the paintball manufactures lose interest and question their investments in competitive paintball.

Community member Eforce (via PbNation) has done an excellent job in putting this into perspective.

There’s a limit to the number of cases sold at each event. I’m going to use entirely fictitious numbers here so don’t read too deeply into this but I think this may help you understand why a decision like this is made if it’s about competition.

Let’s say that 5000 cases of paint sell at every PSP event, independent of the number of paint vendors in attendance. I obviously do not have sales data from each vendor so again, we’re going to use fictitious numbers to explore this concept. It’s more or less the equivalent of carrying capacity. Let’s say that hypothetically speaking, paint sales are divided evenly by each vendor.

5000 cases / 1 vendor = 5000 cases sold per vendor
5000 cases / 2 vendors = 2500 cases sold per vendor
5000 cases / 3 vendors = 1667 cases sold per vendor
5000 cases / 4 vendors = 1250 cases sold per vendor

Given that companies have to pay $____ to the PSP to earn a spot on the paint vendor list, they will need to sell X cases each in order to break even on their investment. If the difference between, for example… 2 and 3 vendors (nearly 900 cases each) is the difference between breaking even and losing money for each vendor, the PSP will be expected to draw the line at 2 vendors in order to retain a viable sales model. Otherwise, they could face one or more vendors pulling out and face a potentially fatal paint situation. If the carrying capacity of the PSP market is 2 paint vendors and they put 3 at every event, problems arise.

thanks to Propaintball.com..... :thumbsup:
